These plant based plates are made from wheatstraw fiber, the remaining plant material after the wheat grain and chaff have been extracted. Wheatstraw is not only an annually renewable resource, but it can be used to produce products normally made from paper, such as this compostable tableware.
The bagasse plates are fully compostable, microwave and freezer safe (can be used for both hot and cold items), soak proof, have no plastic or wax lining, can handle hot liquids up to 220 Fahrenheit, and meet ASTM D-6400 standards for composability.
Though these compostable plates are soak proof, hot items will cause the plates to 'perspire' and some condensation may form at the bottom.
These plates meet FDA food standards for food contact and are Gluten-Free. These eco friendly compostable plates are made from wheat stalks and not from the food grain which stores the proteins and allergens.
Depth 0.8" (for both plates)
